On Friday 1/20 at approximately 4pm, the Internet link will be taken down to allow for equipment replacement. All externally-accessible services (including this website) will be inaccessible during this time.

Downtime is not expected to exceed an hour.

Well, at first I was unsure about what to do with this box, since it mostly sits idle, barely getting touched by anyone or anything. I was going to power it down (but keep it around) to free up resources, but now I’m not entirely sure. I’ve recently found a somewhat legitimate use for it though since starting my programming class this semester, and I set up a development environment. I figured I might as well have my own reliable space for development instead of being like other people in the class and use the overloaded department server for dev purposes.

So I guess the server will stay up for the time being, at least until I find another way to work on any development projects.

I hate WordPress. It’s been a nightmare to set up, and I can’t even access it internally with my own internal server names and such and still have it work from the outside. I essentially have to go out and back in to get to the site from the machine that’s sitting right here on my desk, connected to the same network as the server.
